Races for Elite Men & Women, Junior Men & Women and Under 23 Men are all contested at the UCI Road World Championships.
The following events will be contested at the 2022 UCI Road World Championships:
- Road Race: The event is a single ‘mass start’ road race, the winner being the first across the line at the completion of the full race distance. This is usually conducted as a circuit race of approximately 15 -25km which may start from another point before entering the circuit.
- Individual time trial (ITT) is an event in which cyclists race alone against the clock on flat or rolling terrain, or up a mountain road. Cyclists start the race at different times so that each start is fair and equal.
- Team time trial (TTT), is a road-based bicycle race in which teams of cyclists race against the clock. Cyclists start the race at different times so that each start is fair and equal.
- Participation and Community Events: A number of other community and participation events will be conducted prior to and during the Championships.
